Abstract

The estimation of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) from other pollution parameters in a dairy plant processing wastewater was attempted. Monitored pollution parameters included biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), and total solids (TS). A prediction equation for BOD including COD, TSS, and TS can be used to estimate BOD concentrations at the 95° confidence interval in this aerated lagoon system.
