Abstract

Preliminary studies suggest that a bioreactor utilizing entrapped mixed microbial cells can be used to detoxify wastewaters containing pesticides such as 1‐naphthyl N‐methylcarbamate. Mixed cultures were obtained from soil samples. Performance of entrapped cells is compared with that of similar cultures adsorbed on cellulose triacetate fibers.
