Abstract
This paper discusses the development of an online information system, called SWIMS. It contains information concerning waste recycling, energy conversion, and waste and energy conservation in solid waste management programs. SWIMS is produced for Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LaDEQ) on Digital Equipment Corporation's (DEC) 6410 and 6420 computer. ORACLE Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) is used in the design of SWIMS. Functions provided by SWIMS are discussed in detail and information on how to use and maintain this system are also provided.
