Abstract

Non‐01 Vibrio cholerae strains were isolated during gastroenteritis outbreak. The enterotoxigenic strains showed sensitivity to streptomycin and tetracyclirie whereas six strains showed resistance to ampicillin and two to chlorampehnicol. Three strains showed curing by acridine orange while others did not show curing. The studies suggest that drug resistance may be plasmid mediated.
