Abstract
A soil index is proposed to simplify data presentation for engineering properties of soil. The index was applied on the data obtained from the previous soil investigations carried out in different locations in the Nienavah district of IRAQ. Conforming with the indices, these locations are classified according to the nature of stabilization required. The application of the soil Index can be extended over other areas, and can be modified to cover various types of soil properties related to the stabilisation.
