Abstract
Environmental radiation in air, rain water and soil on the Majorca island were determined. Radioactive elements were analyzed by gamma spectrometry and total a and ß activity values were determined by a low‐background proportional counter. All the determinations performed during a sampling period of 15 months confirmed that artificial isotopes (excepted 137Cs in soils) exhibited activities below their LLD. The most relevant contribution to the natural activity comes from primordial radionuclides.
