Abstract

Complete decolorization of the dark brown wastewater of the yeast‐production industry is faced with problems. Biological treatments, aerobic or anaerobic, can never ensure colorless effluent; thus, some additional decolorization process is usually needed. The application of ozone, as a final decolorization step, seems to be promising.
