Summary

The contents of cadmium in some organs of fallow‐deer, sheep, brown hare and rabbit were studied. The highest levels of cadmium were found in the kidneys of all of the different animal species (0.17 ‐ 2.05 mg/kg). The highest levels of cadmium were found in brown hare kidneys and the lowest values were recorded in the reproductive organs (0.007 ‐ 0.04 mg/kg) and in the muscle (0.005 ‐ 0.01 mg/kg). In comparison of wild and farm animals higher levels of cadmium were detected in the organs of wild animals.
