Determination of major and minor elements in natural drugs using x‐ray fluorescence analysis

Abstract

For many years the role and metabolic functions of trace elements have intensively been investigated. Natural drugs are widely used for diuretic, phlegm elimination and stomach invigoration purposes. Twenty‐nine of natural drugs used by Turkish people have been subjected to trace element analysis by radioisotope excited energy dispersive x‐ray fluorescence analysis.

Within this large number of different natural products, seventeen elements were detected.
