Spatial correlation of cultural industry and tourism industry in Shaanxi Province, China: LISA analysis based on coordination model

&

ABSTRACT

Shaanxi is not only representative of Chinese traditional culture but also the province with the most abundant tourism resources. In this study, the LISA (Local Indicators of Spatial Auto-correlation) tests were used to investigate the development of the cultural industry and the tourism industry in Shaanxi. The results indicated that from 2010 to 2018, the coordinated development, of cultural and tourism industries, has gradually formed a positive aggregation in space. The rapid development of tourism and cultural industries in Xi’an has driven the development of the surrounding areas (Xianyang, Baoji, and Weinan) and formed a high-value cluster in Guanzhong.
