Abstract

Service learning is a blend of academic learning, service to community, and civic responsibility. It offers the opportunity for hospitality students to develop skills, such as communication, leadership, and time management. College students majoring in hospitality management were recruited and participated. Community Service Attitudes Survey (CSAS) was used to investigate the perceptions and attitudes of college students toward community service. Regarding the intention to engage in community service, perceptions and moral obligation were significant factors of engagement intention in community service. Among the components of significant factors community connectedness and norms made significant contributions to explaining variance in the hospitality students' intention for engaging in community service.
