Notes

Ras Tafari Makonnen was crowned Emperor of Ethiopia under the name Haile Selassie in 1930, but he did not travel to Jamaica until the 1960s. The early Rastafarians were the people in Jamaica who first believed and preached the Ethiopian emperor's divinity.
