Abstract

Within the mapped area different types of leptites, carbonate rocks, skarn, micaschists, magmatic rocks, iron ores, and sulphide ore are found. The magnetite iron ores are undoubtedly sedimentary in origin.

Iron ores, as well as the surrounding rocks show sulphide mineralization, mainly consisting of pyrrhotite, galena and pyrite.

The primary hydrothermal sulphide association was followed by a pneumatolytic-hydrothermal mineralization (scheelite, molybdenite, pyrrhotite, and chal-copyrite). The primary sulphides possibly represent mobilised and re-deposited sedimentary ores. As they are found today, however, the ores are clearly epigenetic and almost without exception show the effects of metamorphism.
