Postglacial land uplift in northern Sweden. Some remarks on its relation to the present rate of uplift and the uncompensated depression

Pages 347-357 | Published online: 04 Jan 2010

Abstract

The implications of the isostatic approach and of the present rate of land uplift are examined with special regard to their applications in studying the postglacial uplift of central and northern Sweden. Some few examples are given, using a lin-versus-log type of diagram. The remaining uncompensated depression, the total amount of uplift, and the rate of uplift are shown as time variables in the same diagram where they are all represented by straight lines.
