A program system for mineral X-ray data including search-match routines

Pages 343-348 | Accepted 05 Dec 1980, Published online: 06 Jan 2010

Abstract

An integrated computer program system has been developed for flexible handling of X-ray powder diffraction data for minerals. Powder data from various sources may be processed, and crystallographic unit cell dimensions for all symmetries can be refined. A program which permits interactive search-match through an X-ray powder diffraction data file for minerals is also included. The mineral data have been extracted from the JCPDS(ASTM) files and the recent mineralogical literature. Illustrative test examples are given. All programs are written in Fortran IV for a NOVA 4/X computer, but may easily be modified for a similar computer.
