The first stages of the development of hermaphroditic gonad in Helix cincta arc examined. The primordial germ-cells appear among the somatic cells and they undergo at the beginning the female gametogenesis, the male one afterwards. At last appear the nurse-cells; the latter exhibit only trophic activities towards the male germ cells.
