ABSTRACT
GFP technology is revolutionising our current understanding of plant cell biology as its application permits the study of cellular events in vivo. This has shed new light not only on the morphology of cells but also on the dynamics of organellar systems and their interrelationships within the cytosol. The aim of this review is to illustrate how GFP technology can be applied to the study of plant cells and then to detail current results obtained in the study of the endomembrane system in plants based around current work in our laboratories.
