A new species of Muiaria from South America

Abstract

Muiaria fertilis, parasitic on Xenochaetina opaca Hendel (Diptera, Lauxaniidae) from Ecuador, is described and illustrated. Various developmental stages of the new species are also described, and hypotheses on its biology are presented.
