Abstract
During a botanic excursion in the neighbourhood of Beyrouth, in February 1952, the alophile vegetation of the falaises near Ras Beyrouth, and the psammophile vegetation of the shores South of this place were studied.
Among many facies of the vegetation are found two falaises plant-associations of particular interest: Limonium graecum ass. and Limonium Sieberi ass. and three psammophile ass.: Salsoleto-Euphorbietum, Agropyretum mediterraneum and Saccha rum biflorum-Aristida ass. Peculiar is the absence of the Ammophiletum on the downs; and this is depending on climatic factors.
Among the collection, Spergularia campestris is new to the Lebanon flora, and the Ambrosia hispida is found for the first time in the Mediterranean land.
