Abstract
Double strand RNA's present in two fungal strains different in their ability to produce spores.—We have characterized a particular ds RNA system in two fungal strains obtained from a Penicillium citrinum Thom isolate recovered from soil and affected by a double mycoviral infection. These two strains differed morphologically and in the ability to produce spores. We have compared our results with those typical of more extensively studied systems: Penicillium chrysogenum and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
