This article deals with the problem of the separation between «science» and «conscience» in the current phase of scientific advance, (particularly in the field of biothechnology and genetic engineering). The possibility of building a global theory of evolution (physical, biological, cultural) is discussed, in order to obtain a consequent view of the problem. There is emphasis on the dramatic state of separation which currently exists between the technical capacity of man to work deep changes in his own nature and the poverty of ethical thought in respect. A «global anthropology» is suggested to obviate this situation, as field of study of today's man and a «bioethic» for the rational and conscious building of his future.
