Bridging the Gap between Medical Ethics and Environmental Ethics

Pages 161-164 | Received 21 May 1993, Accepted 15 May 1993, Published online: 10 Feb 2014

Abstract

The article is a condensation of an illustrated lecture opening the symposium “Putting Global Bioethics into Practice” presented to honor Professor Dade Moeller on the occasion of his retirement from the Harvard School of Public Health, April 20, 1993. Figures are not included but sources are cited. Public Health professionals are concerned with environmental benefits as well as hazards in relation to medical problems. They are therefore aware of ethical problems in both areas. They operate across international borders in cooperation with their counterparts in other countries. Thus they could be agents for a Global Bioethics.
