1. I have chosen not to go further into the debate about the Eliasian concept ”quest for excitement” compared to the concept ”quest for exciting significance” as presented by Joseph Maguire (Citation1992). I do not think that the discussion about ‘drift’ or ‘cultural meanings’ is of any relevance here – both dimensions have their needs and relevance: Emotions matter regardless of their nature.
