Jonathan Berkshire Miller is director of Foreign Affairs, National Security and Defence at the Ottawa-based Macdonald-Laurier Institute. He is also concurrently a senior fellow at the Japan Institute of International Affairs, and serves as one of Canada's Expert and Eminent Persons (EEP) at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Regional Forum
