ABSTRACT

Under particular conditions, the radiated motion due to building vibration may considerably modify the surface free-field seismic motion. This paper presents the study of interactions between soil and building motion, performed by the finite element method. The model was excited by shear wave input motion (2D, plane strain). First, the numerical topmost soil response has been compared to the analytical formulation, considering several soil models. Then, the effects of the structural parameters variation (height and width) on the building response have been studied as well as the induced soil effects (β1 variable). The spatial decay of the radiated wavefield back into the soil from the building base has been considered, showing resonance effects between soil and structure.

RÉSUMÉ

Les vibrations des bâtiments peuvent sous certaines conditions perturber le mouvement sismique à la surface du sol et jusqu 'à des distances importantes. Cet article propose l'étude des phénomènes d'interaction dynamique entre le sol et la structure par la méthode des éléments finis, lorsque le modèle est soumis à une onde plane de cisaillement (modèle 2D, déformation plane). La réponse numérique d'une couche superficielle de sol est tout d'abord comparée à la formulation analytique, pour différents modèles de sol. L'influence des caractéristiques élastiques du sol (β1) sur la réponse de différentes structures (hauteur et largeur variables) est ensuite étudiée. La décroissance spatiale du champ d'onde retro-diffusé dans le sol depuis la base de la fondation est enfin abordée, en mettant l'accent sur les phénomènes de résonance qui peuvent exister entre le sol et la structure.
