ABSTRACT

To overcome the reduced resources of naturel granular material that constitute the main materials used in civil engineering construction, it is necessary to seek for other solutions: granitic rochs may certainly offer the necessary quantities if a best knowledge of their behaviour is established. Our present paper shows a study of mechanical behaviour of the pegmatite in the Kabylia. Triaxial testings have been undertaken to characterise these granular materials formed of crushed gravels with different sizes. During this work, main attention has been taken to study the influence of the materials granulometry, dilatancy, contractancy as well as the compacity state of the material behaviour.
