ABSTRACT
The mechanical behaviour of the reinforced concrete structures is affected by the corrosion of reinforcing bars. In this paper, is studied the evolution of the global behaviour of the structure, particularly the load-deflection curve according to the percentage of corrosion. Accordingly, the finite element method with the computation software CASTEM 2000 is used. It is necessary to take into account the evolution of the various components of the reinforced concrete structures. For a first step of computation, steel will undergo a modification of its mechanical properties added to a lost of section, taking into account the products generated by the corrosion. Lastly, the deterioration of the profile of the bar, as well as the loss of the confinement will degrade steel-concrete bond. This is assessed in a second step of modelling.
