ABSTRACT
This paper analyses the destination wedding choice through a diasporic perspective by examining a Turkey wedding chosen by an Iranian diasporic family. The research findings illustrate how searching for certain aspects of an “ideal home” compels a group of people to choose a destination wedding because they are not able to celebrate their wedding in their original homeland or their country of residence. Within this new context, this study provides insight for destination wedding planners in an underresearched niche market with special demands and characteristics.
