SUMMARY

The possibility to change the biosynthetic characteristics of strain Streptomyces tenebrarius 1575 producer of nebramycin antibiotic complex using UV-mutagenesis was established. The obtaining method of a double producer of apramycin and tobramycin was described. The new strain differs from the parent in blocked kanamycin synthesis. During the treatment it was found that UV-irradiation induced considerable amount of morphological mutants. A srong connection between morphology and biosynthesis of active compouds among the population was observed. As a result after some steps of UV—treatment and selection a strain producing stable amounts of apramycin and tobramycin was obtained.
