ABSTRACT
A bulgarian strain of Plum pox virus (PPV-B) was propagated in N. benthamiana, from which the virus was purified. The viral RNA was isolated and a complementary DNA was synthesized. After screening of the clones by hybridization and restriction digestion analysis a physical map with six clones was constructed. Clone pPPV-B 363 covering the 3'end of the viral RNA was sequenced. The amino acid sequence of the coat protein was deduced and compared with four other PPV coat proteins.
