SUMMARY

The influence of the microbial synthesis of L-aspartic acid from fumaric acid with the participation of aspartase as an endocellular enzyme which is typical for various bacterial cultures was described. Thereafter the questions related to spread, natur and mechanism of enzyme action were discussed. The methods of activation and immobilization of cells were studied, and some requirements to use carriers were given. A survey of application aspects of L-aspartic acid and its derivatives in different areas was made.
