ABSTRACT

From different N. tabacum brands 26 cell cultures were obtained. They were adapted to submered cultivation and the ability of the cell suspensions to synthesize cell biomass and ubiquinone-10 was investigated. The cell culture N. tabacum 1507 proved to be the most suitable for the production of cell biomass and ubiquinone-10. Its time course of the growth and the biosynthesis of ubiquinone-10 were studied and was found that for 10 - 12 days 17.5 g/dm3 dry biomass was synthesized, containing ubiquinone-10 0.28 mg/g DB.
