ABSTRACT
Two pot experiments were carried out in order to establish the relationship between the optical characteristics of beans leaves and the yield. A positive correlation between the optical characteristic—absorbance A % and the yield was found in the blooming season. A negative correlation between the optical characteristic reflectance (R %) of beans leaves and the yield was established in the blooming season. The optical characteristics of beans leaves can be used as criterion for the estimation of yields, only when the differences between the treatments are sufficiently sharp in respect to nitrogen nutrition of plants.
