ABSTRACT

In surgical practice lots of different plastic materials for strengthening of anastomoses and large deserosations are used, hut none of them gives satisfactory results so the matter stays open and debatable. For that purpose the authors offer created by them material-recombinated collagen called “Recollen”. Experiments over 45 dogs, divided into 3 groups according to the kind of the operative interventions and into 5 groups according to the period of reoperation that has been done. The results of the macroseptic view and microscopic investigation showed that “Recollen” was well accepted by the organism and there were no cells of inflamatory or immunocompetent kind. The lumen was preserved in the same segment of the bowel without any data of stenosis or rigidity. The nonpathological hystological view and good macroscopic reserosation of the anastomosis is the best testimonial for that kind of plastic material. These results give the possibility to reccomend “Recollen” for clinical application after the relevant trials for allergy and toxicity.
