ABSTRACT
The wild species are very good sources of new genes in breeding programs for increasing the resistance of elite cultivars to biotic and abiotic stress (Dragina, 1986). During 1989 in the breeding program of spray carnation different wild species were included (Atanassova, 1996). The aim was to obtain a genetic diversity for this crop and to increase the resistance to pathogens. The most important in the breeding programs of carnation is to obtain hybrids with improved ornamental quality, resistance to Fusarium wilt and suitable for parks, gardens and also for cut flowers.
