ABSTRACT

Table grape genotypes under the ‘Amasya’ group are one of the widely grown table grape cultivars in many parts of Turkey. Although these genotypes are listed under same group. They had not been identified as same or different and it has caused problems in cultivar standardization and determination of total genotype number. This research was carried out to identfy Amasya genotypes belonging to the Amasya group using AFLP technique in DNA analysis. A total of 524 bands were obtained from 9 primer/enzyme combinations and 33.7% of them were found polymorphic. As a result of the study, all Amasya genotypes were declared to be a different cultivar. EcoRI +2 bases primer combinations were proved to be the most effective ones in polymorphic identifications in AFLP analysis.
