ABSTRACT
In the course of three years in the period 2003–2005 were accomplished numerous laboratory and field trials in order to determine the efficacy of one of the most new insecticides Confidor 70 VG (imidacloprid), as well as its combinations with three of the widest used in tobacco production pyrethroids against tobacco thrips (Thrips tabaci Lind.) and western blossom thrips—Californian (Franclinella occidentalis Pergande). It was ascertained that in order to be achieved maximum effect with Confidor 70 VG and its combinations with pyrethroids, the treatment should accomplished only in morning, cool hours of the day, when air temperature is up to 20 °C. Recommendations for single application of Confidor 70 VG or in combination with Decys 2,5 EK, Vaztack 100 EK and Furry 10 EK are indicated.
