ABSTRACT

Morphogenesis of Spring viraemia of carp virus/SVCV/in Epithelioma papulosum cyprini/EPC/cells was investigated with regard to ultrastructural changes of the cytoplasm organelles in dynamics/24th, 36th, 48th, 72ndh/. The ultrastructure of cytoplasm organelles of cultured cells after viral infection differed depending on the stage of viral replication.

Taken together, the results indicate that SVCV-infected epithelioma papulosum cyprini/EPC/cells undergo apoptosis. Here, we report for the first time that apoptotic changes in SVCV infected EPC cells started early—before 24th h after viral infection. At the same time, almost all cytoplasm organelles take part in viral replication undergoing ultrastructural changes that progress to cell death.
