ABSTRACT

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is frequently fatal viral infection, described in over 30 countries around the world. The rapid and exact diagnosis of CCHF is essential for the right treatment, outcome and prevention of its further dissemination. Molecular techniques as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) became widely used for CCHF. However, they are not adapted and introduced in Bulgaria. The aim of this study is to present the results of modification and adaptation of one-step RT-PCR system for fast and specific detection of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fiver virus (CCHFV). The results show that this method could assure rapid and specific detection the CCHFV in laboratory and clinical samples.
