ABSTRACT
The role of the member- correspondent B. Botev in the development of many directions of modern biology and the education in biology in Bulgaria is shown.

The paper presents the contributions of the member- correspondent B. Botev in the field of biology, cytology, zoology and education. He has written many books and manuals of General Biology, Parasitology, Comparative Anatomy of Vertebrates, and Medical Genetics. After acad. M. Popov and Acad. R. Popivanov head of the Department of Biology in Medical Academy has been the member- correspondent B. Botev. A great number of graduates in biology, medicine and stomatology in Sofia have acquired knowledge and experience from him in biology, Parasitology, comparative anatomy of vertebrates and genetics.
For his contributions for the development of biology and education in Biology in Bulgaria the member- correspondent B. Botev has been honored with many awards
