Abstract

In this article, we analyse the size and rank relationship for two administratively different public theatres, city and state, in Istanbul along with survival probabilities. We find returns to information for Istanbul public theatre plays. We present a comparison of our findings with related literature on Turkish state plays and Broadway shows. We find that the number of performances exhibits a lot less variation in centralized systems. Duration analysis reveals that run length of state theatres is larger than city theatres. This is an indication of greater accountability of city theatres as compared to state theatres.
