Abstract
This article highlights the major features of accreditation in Nigeria. It also considers the concepts of quality and standards and their implications for the Nigerian experience. Furthermore, the background of accreditation in Nigeria is considered. The criteria used in the accreditation exercise are examined. The paper concludes with the problems and prospects of accreditation in Nigerian universities.
