Julie A. Nelson is a longtime contributor to feminist economics, having coedited Beyond Economic Man: Feminist Theory and Economics (with Marianne A. Ferber, University of Chicago Press, 1993) and with many books and articles published since. After years of experience in research organizations, in various economics departments (of various degrees of feminist friendliness), as a mother of two, and as a plaintiff in a US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) sex discrimination complaint, she is also now a full professor and department chair.
