Lourdes Benería is Professor Emerita, Department of City and Regional Planning, Cornell University. She now lives in Barcelona, Spain, where she is associated with the Inter-University Institute for the Study of Women and Gender. She is author of Gender, Development and Globalization: Economics as if All People Mattered (Routledge, 2003) and co-editor of Rethinking Labor Market Informalization: Poverty, Precarious Jobs and Social Protection (Internet First University Press, 2006). She has also co-edited the three-volume collection Feminist Economics for the 21st Century (Edward Elgar Economics Series, 2011).
