Pages 393-403 | Published online: 18 Feb 2007

Notes

3 Letizia Mencarini, professor of statistics at Florence University, conducted a survey of more than 3000 working mothers across Italy and found that fewer than 6 per cent said their husbands perform household chores. The findings were reported on October 11, 2004, by Sylvia Poggioli on Morning Edition for National Public Radio.

4 My thanks to the Wenner – Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research's Richard Carley Hunt Fellowship and the University of Massachusetts Amherst Department of Anthropology for providing 12 months of support in 2005, and hence allowing me the time to write the Unraveled manuscript.

5 See Krause 2005c for the complete version and results of this investigation.
