Abstract
The Tienchu Syndrome is a myofascial condition of the posterior neck region with a trigger point at the Tienchu Acupoint (BIO). Tienchu is located at the depression adjacent to the upper lateral border of the trapezius muscle. Symptoms start with dull pain or stiffness of the posterior neck and occipital headache. When advanced, occipital neuralgia, eye fatigue and pain, and general muscle contraction headache follow. The Tienchu Syndrome is frequently seen in pain clinic practice, either as an independent phenomenon caused by fatigue or as the referred symptom of other diseases. A Tienchu Block with local anaesthetic combined with a small dose of steroid is a most effective therapeutic method and can be easily carried out.
