An Unusual Neurological Complication Following Knee Arthroscopy.

Abstract

Arthroscopy of the knee is a very common surgical procedure which has been associated with a low risk of complications. We report a case of intra-muscular haematoma, secondary to arthroscopic meniscal surgery, which caused a deep vein thrombosis. The anticoagulant treatment caused the haematoma to expand and produce neurological complications, a very rare phenomenon following arthroscopy.
