Neuromuscular Techniques in Manual Medicine: A Direct Approach in Vertebral Treatment

Abstract

A different pattern of neuromuscular technique is presented for manual treatment of vertebral hypomobility dysfunction. In this method the articulatory functional disturbances are approached directly in the same affected segment. The aim of this procedure is to work with the intrinsic segmental paraspinal muscles (frequently in the painful area) relevant to the functional lesion.

It is proposed that using this ‘Direct Approach’ as an additional technique has practical advantages
