Tennis Elbow: Searching For Clues as to its Nature and for the Best Modes of Treatment.

Abstract

The medical literature about tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) is reviewed. It reveals sparse evidence for a unitary cause for the syndrome, despite many theories and some pathological evidence of structural fault in some cases. Methods of treatment are reviewed, which show a similar diversity of approach, and that no one treatment shows evidence of reliable, permanent benefit.
