Abstract

Triceps tendon avulsion following trauma is a relatively rare injury and following water-sporting activities is extremely rare. We report a case of triceps tendon avulsion in a relatively new adventure sport – kite surfing, and discuss the mechanism of the injury and treatment by early surgical intervention. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of a severe upper arm injury resulting in triceps tendon avulsion in this new sporting group of kite surfers.
